Add-ons
What changes the price
Why one DJ costs more than another.
When two quotes look far apart, it's usually one of these.
How long you need me
Signature covers a reception up to 5 hours; Celebration and Prestige cover a reception up to 6.
How many spaces
A ceremony on the lawn, cocktails on the patio and a reception in the ballroom each need their own sound. That's the jump from one setup to two or three.
Dance floor vs. the whole room
Dance floor lighting comes with every package. Uplighting with 20+ lights colors the whole room: included in Prestige, $595 on its own.
Who runs the mic
Some quotes are music only. Mine always include the MC: introductions, toasts, cake, parent dances and the timeline.
Reading the room
15 years and 500+ events. Knowing when to play the wedding classics and when to drop the reggaeton is what you're really paying for.
The nice-to-haves
A digital monogram, an additional DJ by the hour and studio mixes of your night are optional add-ons, so you only pay for what you want.
Before you book anyone
Questions to ask any DJ.
Whoever you hire, get clear answers to these first.
- Will you MC, or just play music?Someone has to run introductions, toasts and the timeline.
- Is the ceremony included? And cocktail hour, if it's in a different space.
- Can I hear you first?Ask for full mixes, not 30-second clips. Here are mine.
- How do requests and do-not-plays work? You should be able to set both before the day.
- What lighting is included?Dance floor lighting and uplighting are different things.
- What does my venue require?Ask your venue about load-in times, power and any vendor requirements, and share them with your DJ.
Wedding DJ price FAQ
Good to know.
How much does a wedding DJ cost in Boston?
Most full-service wedding DJs around Boston that publish their prices charge roughly $1,800 to $3,300 for a wedding. My packages are $2,000, $2,500 and $3,000, and each one includes DJ and MC service.
What's included in the price?
Every package includes me as your DJ and MC, a deluxe DJ booth, sound, dance floor lighting and the mobile planner and playlist. The packages differ in how many setups you get (reception, ceremony, cocktail hour), reception length and uplighting.
Why do some wedding DJs cost more than others?
Mostly hours, the number of separate setups (a ceremony on the lawn and a reception in the ballroom need two sound systems), lighting, and whether the DJ also MCs. Experience matters too: reading a room and running a timeline are what you're really paying for.
How much is uplighting?
Ballroom uplighting with 20+ lights is $595 as an add-on, or included in the Prestige package.
